Modify LM14 to 220v

Credits: Thierry PARENT on his web page

We follow the general modification principles

Divide capacitors value by a 2 factor (choosing 630V at least) and double the resistor value (3W or more).

For all modifications, take care of the fact that you are working on "line voltage 120V/220V".
Don't try to plug your work until you closed the box and screwed it.

This page is for information only, all the modifications that you perform on the original module are AT YOUR OWN RISKS.

Unsolder the two large capactitor at the top right side labelled C23(2E105) & C24(.22K).

Remove the closest 2W resistor R32 (100ohm)

Unsolder the original 130V MOV.

Parts in your hand should be :

Prepare the required replacing components :

1 x 470 nF 630V fit in C23
1 x 100 nF 630V fit in C24
1 x 220ohm 3W fit in R31
1 x 240V MOV (also named varistor)

Solder them at their respective places

Result should look like :

Reassemble the module, it's now ready to use.

No components limit the current intensity (no fuse).
Take care that the original labelled limitation stay : maximum load 300W.
